Men's Health Is More Than One Number
Tyler Zehr, PA-C explains how Wayfinder approaches men's health, hormone concerns, and the bigger picture behind how you feel.
Men's Health Should Help You Keep Doing the Things You Care About
Better health is not about chasing a number on a lab report. It is about having the energy, function, and long-term health to stay active, spend time with the people you care about, and keep doing the things that matter to you.
That is why Wayfinder looks beyond testosterone alone and considers the bigger picture, including sleep, cardiovascular health, metabolic health, medications, lifestyle, and other factors that may affect how you feel.
More Than a Testosterone Level
Fatigue, low libido, erectile dysfunction, changes in body composition, and declining energy can have many causes. Hormones may be part of the picture, but sleep, medications, metabolic health, cardiovascular disease, stress, and other medical conditions can contribute too. We take the time to look at the whole picture before deciding what treatment makes sense.
Hormone Evaluation
Evaluation of symptoms and laboratory findings related to testosterone deficiency, with treatment considered when medically appropriate.
Sexual Health
Evaluation of erectile dysfunction, libido concerns, medication options, and contributing medical factors.
The Bigger Picture
We consider sleep, cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, medications, weight, mood, and other conditions that may affect how you feel.
Reasons Men Come See Us
You do not need to know whether testosterone is the problem before scheduling. The evaluation is designed to help determine what may actually be contributing.
Testosterone Therapy When It Makes Medical Sense
Low energy or low libido does not automatically mean low testosterone. Testosterone deficiency should be evaluated using both symptoms and appropriately obtained laboratory testing.
If testing supports testosterone deficiency, we can discuss treatment options, expected benefits, potential risks, fertility considerations, and the monitoring required with long-term therapy.
The goal is not to sell testosterone. The goal is to determine why you are having symptoms and choose an appropriate treatment plan.
How the Men's Health Evaluation Works
Start With Your Concerns
We review your symptoms, health history, medications, sexual health, fertility goals, sleep, lifestyle, and other factors that may be relevant.
Get the Right Testing
Laboratory testing is selected based on your symptoms and history. When testosterone deficiency is suspected, repeat morning testing may be needed before making a diagnosis.
Build a Plan
We review the results and discuss next steps. If ongoing prescription treatment or broader medical management is needed, that care can continue through Wayfinder membership.

Why Ongoing Men's Health Fits Better With Primary Care
Testosterone, erectile dysfunction, energy, weight, sleep, blood pressure, cholesterol, and metabolic health often overlap. Long-term treatment works better when someone is looking at all of it instead of treating one laboratory value in isolation.
If Testosterone Is the Issue
Wayfinder members can receive ongoing monitoring, prescription management, dose adjustments, laboratory review, and follow-up as part of their primary care membership when testosterone therapy is medically appropriate.
If Testosterone Isn't the Issue
Symptoms may instead be related to sleep apnea, medications, metabolic disease, cardiovascular risk, mood, thyroid disease, or another condition. Members can continue addressing those problems through the same practice rather than being sent somewhere else.
Tyler Zehr, PA-C
I'm a physician assistant and founder of Wayfinder Direct Primary Care in Coeur d'Alene. I created Wayfinder to give patients more time with their provider, easier access to care, and a more personal approach to primary care.
Men's health concerns often overlap with the rest of your health. Rather than treating a testosterone number by itself, I look at symptoms, medical history, medications, sleep, cardiovascular and metabolic health, and other factors that may be contributing.
Learn More About TylerFrequently Asked Questions
Do I have to join Wayfinder to have my testosterone checked?
No. Nonmembers can schedule a focused men's health evaluation. If ongoing medication management or comprehensive primary care is needed, continued treatment through Wayfinder may require membership.
Is men's health included for current Wayfinder members?
Yes. Evaluation and ongoing management of men's health concerns fall within your regular Wayfinder primary care membership. Laboratory testing, medications, imaging, specialist care, and other outside services may have separate costs.
Will I automatically be prescribed testosterone if my level is low?
No. Testosterone levels need to be interpreted alongside symptoms, timing of testing, medical history, and other possible causes. Additional or repeat testing may be needed before deciding whether testosterone treatment is appropriate.
What if I'm concerned about fertility?
Fertility plans are an important part of the evaluation. Testosterone therapy can affect sperm production, so current or future fertility goals should be discussed before starting treatment.
Are laboratory tests included in the $199 evaluation?
No. Laboratory testing is priced separately so testing can be tailored to what is actually appropriate for you rather than charging every patient for the same large panel.
Do you accept insurance?
Wayfinder Direct Primary Care does not bill insurance for membership or included primary care services. Patients may still use insurance for outside laboratory testing, imaging, medications, specialists, hospital care, and other services when applicable.
